Well, spring should be coming. Winter continues to hold on in SW Ontario. We have enjoyed the first few weeks, having spent 5 nights at the farm over March Break. We have furniture and beds and other household items to do quite well. The wood furnace has been absolutely amazing. The house gets incredibly warm as it was fully spray foamed when renovated years ago. We have also enjoyed the classic old wood stove in the kitchen.
In recent days as, some thawing has occured, we are seeing the first signs of signicant mud. It will get worse before it gets better! Glad we have lots of rubber boots.
A recent addition to our tool arsenal is a Stihl 211 Chainsaw. We have already cut some downed branches and it works brilliantly.
The previous owner came back recently to introduce us to neighbors and to give pointers on other important things around the farm. I received a tractor driving lesson which great. I have in turn given Peter and Daniel lessons on it as well.
We look forward to the end of hockey season so we can spend weekends up there going forward.
